MALEMA CRITICIZES NATAL INDIANS

EFF LEADER MALEMA'S ANTI-INDIAN SPEECH 30 JULY 2017

IN HIS TIRADE AGAINST NATAL iNDIANS AND SINGLING OUT BUSINESS PERSONS MALEMA  TRIED TO BE SMART BY PREFACING WHAT HE STATED BY "SOME" . Undoubtedly the some would have been totally missed by the REDS.. Undoubtedly the message would have hit home creating a major dent in other leaders' efforts in nation-building. Undoubtedly his vote garnering exercise would have been successful.

The alternative would have been a general statement to direct the aggrieved to the labour courts, etc.

Be that as it may, following upon the knee jerk reaction of some Indians it is also time to introspect and examine whether we are playing our part in nation building.

A start would be to ask yourself a few questions:

  • Do you still call your gardener "BOY" or use the term "bowser boy"
  • Do you still insist that the Helper call you Madam
  • Do you know where your helper (maid) lives; the type of home she occupies and whether she pays rent, etc
  • Are you aware how many taxis and buses she has to take to get to you every morning.
  • Do you know if she is a single mother
  • Do you know the number of children she has: the ages and the grades they are in and how well they are performing
  • Do you employ her half a day to reduce payment, not considering she still has to pay the same amount of taxi fare. Will you work under such circumstances
  • Are you paying her less than the set the minimum wage

  • Do you sell all your old stuff instead of giving to her.
  • Do you give her a Christmas bonus
  • Did you offer to at least assist to buy her childrens stationary
  • Do you maintain "I give her so many things" when you are questioned about paying below the set minimum wage
As a minority group we will be singled out from time to time and tarnished with the same brush meant for a few.  The actions of a few create misconceptions. Let's start our nation building exercise now at home. Your HELPER is best positioned to start the social cohesion  revolution.
